Panoramic daguerreotype of Paris by Charles Louis Chevalier (1804-1859) sent to Fox Talbot (1800-1877). On the left are houseboats, with the Louvre Museum in the centre, and the Paserelle des Arts footbridge, the first metal bridge acros the Seine, on the right. Chevalier was an optician and photographic equipment manufacturer who worked with both Niepce (1765-1833) and Daguerre (1787-1851). He also made many photomicrographs on daguerreotypes.
