Engraved plate taken from the 'Illustrated London News', showing a view inside the Britannia Ironworks in Bedford, a factory manufacturing agricultural machinery. A track runs down the centre of the factory, on which runs a small vehicle carrying the molten iron. This is poured into moulds on the right. The resulting shapes are fashioned into plough blades on the left.
