Oil painting by Terence Cuneo (1907-1996). Cuneo trained at the Slade and Chelsea schools of art in London, and from the 1940s onwards was commisioned to produced artwork for railway posters. Cuneo was also a prolific painter of portraits, ceremonial and military subjects. In his autobiography, Cuneo records his experiences of sketching a De Havilland 'Ghost' on its test bed.
