A mobile anti-gas unit and decontamination squad, 1 August 1940. 'Thirty mobile decontamination units have been provided by the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER). They are for use at widely scattered places for railway staff affected by gas. These units have been formed by the conversion of old pasenger coaches or brake- vans, and contain separate compartments for undresing, showering and stores. The photograph shows a decontamination squad asisting the driver from the cub of a locomotive during a rehearsal in London.'
