'Nine enemy raiders were brought down out of a force of about 50, when German bombers with Cantebury as their main objective, carried out the biggest daylight air attack on south east England since the Battle of Britain two years ago. Householders salvaging a wardrobe from bomb damaged dwellings after the raid.'
