Exhibited as part of the 'Steel Stars and Glas' exhibition held at the Science Museum, London, 1999. The A-Clas, released by Mercedes-Benz in 1997, is a small car which has pasenger space directly comparable to a convential medium-sized saloon. This is achieved by the car's 'sandwich' floor, a void beneath the pasengers that accomodates fuel, engine, gearbox, suspension and electrics.
