Class K3 2-6-0 locomotive number 61856 with a train of cattle wagons on a former Great Central Railway viaduct, by J G Click, about 1952. Cattle wagons opened at the sides and was partitioned inside, providing the right size compartment for the animal. They were ventilated. However, at this time it was becoming more common to move animals by road.
