De Dion Bouton, poster, c 1910.

Coloured lithograph by Madeline Lemaire (1845-1928) after a drawing by Henri Thiriet (active 1895-1910). The original lithograph was made for the De Dion Bouton motor car company to publicise the Model K car. A very modern young lady, dresed in the latest fashion, is shown driving her two-seater coupe at high speed along a coastal road in Northern France with her black chaffeur seated by her side. The black servant was modelled on the Marquis de Dion's Abysinian manservant. One of the first cars to use De Dion's highly succesful single-cylinder engine, the Model K was built at the company's new premises on the Quai National in Puteaux, Paris.
