Description

Tuning forks with leather case, marked 'John Brinsmead and Sons, London'. The forks are also marked, respectively, 'C 518 Continental', 'C 540 Philharmonic', and 'C 530 Society of Arts' which indicate that they are tuned to the standard pitch for the note 'C' as determined by each of the organisations named. The other number marked on the forks is the inventory number of the Science Museum.
