A view of the Lyceum Theatre, 149 West 45th Street in New York showing the entrance to the Lyceum Theatre with advertising panels for the the play 'How Britain Prepared'. Constructed in 1903, the Lyceum is the oldest of the 40 Broadway theatres. Since the 1890s Broadway has become famous as a symbol of commercial theatre in the United States, reaching its hey-day in the 1950s.
