Catalogue illustration. An aerial view from the 'Flip Flap' fairground ride showing the site of the Elite Gardens at the Japan-British Exhibition in White City, London in 1910. The exhibition was held to mark the culmination of 42 years of cros-cultural links between Britain and Japan, during which time the foundations of Japanese industrial society had largely been shaped. It was the first great exhibition of Japanese products held outside the Japanese Empire.
