Tin of toothpowder made by John Bell, Hills and Lucas Ltd of London. On the front of the tin is the inscription 'John Bell's toothpowder' and the company trade mark, and a portrait of John Bell. Pre-war toothpowders commonly contained abrasive materials such as ground pumice stone and brick dust.
