This 'Ormond' hairdryer, purchased on 24 October 1960, is in its original storage case with comb and mirror. Manufactured by Ormond Engineering Co Ltd of London, model number E1022. It is made of 'walnut' Bakelite; Bakelite was the very first fully synthetic plastic, made by the addition of a wood flour filler.
