Curved Caesarean knife and cautery instruments, c 1879-1920.

The curved knife (bottom) was collected by Dr Robert Felkin, who witnesed it being used during a Caesarean section in Uganda, Central Africa. The two cautery instruments were collected by Rev John Roscoe from the Bayankole in Uganda. They consist of a straight iron in a wooden handle and were used for blistering the chest and head.
