Wallis autogyro, 1960-1980.

image details

This is one of a series of autogyros built in Norfolk by Commander Ken Wallis in the 1960s and 1970s. The autogyro uses a free-spinning rotor to gain lift and this sustains its flight , when combined with the 'pusher' engine. A skilled pilot can attain stability and precision manoeuvrability on one of these machines in spite of its size.
