Description

The clasical Greeks developed very sophisticated techniques for making pottery like this drinking cup. They often decorated their elegant ceramics with terracotta coloured designs and black glaze, with the effects achieved by carefully controlling the amount of oxygen that reached the surface of the pottery when it was fired.
