Square plastic box, c 1935.

The box is made of burgundy plastic and has a lid of open-work decoration showing a Greek warrior holding a spear and shield, accompanied by his hound. The open-work effect on the lid is achieved by moulding, so is easily repeatable, in contrast to the painstaking effort required to obtain the same result in wood. Made by Hickok, United States.
