Description

Following a trip to America, where he saw the ENIAC computer, Wilkes (b 1913), with the asistance of colleagues, constructed the Cambridge University digital computer EDSAC (Electronic Delay Storage Automatic Computer). In 1990 he became a research strategy consultant to the Olivetti Research Directorate.
