Description

Thomas Johann Seebeck (1770-1831) discovered the thermoelectric effect. In 1822 Seebeck showed that when a circuit is made of a loop of two metals with two junctions, and these junctions are at different temperatures, this has the effect of causing a flow of electrical current.
