Description

Thomas Sutcliffe Mort (1816-1878) moved to Australia in 1838. His achievements included promoting steam navigation in 1841, starting the first public wool sales in 1843, promoting the first railway in New South Wales in 1849 and originating the frozen meat trade in 1875.
