Moy and Bastie 35mm cine camera, c 1909.
3 9 c m
actual image size: 32cm x 31cm

Made by the London firm of Moy and Bastie, this camera in a wooden case has a Cooke lens and an internal 200 foot film magazine. It is a characteristic British 'upright' pattern cine camera, containing the feed and take-up film magazines on top of each other inside the camera. Moy and Bastie went on to manufacture the Moy Gyro camera in 1912, which was one of the first cine cameras to have an integral electric motor and was designed primarily for newsreel work.
