This Cinematograph camera was made by Birt Acres (1854-1918). Acres worked briefly with Robert W Paul (1869-1943) but their partnership split up in 1895. Acres became a camera and projector manufacturer and established a film-procesing laboratory, which provided a vital service for the new film industry.
