Lithograph drawn and lithographed by American-born artist Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait (1819-1905) showing a crowd looking out over the town of Stafford from the battlements of Stafford Castle. In the 1830s, the construction of Britain's main railways began, and many commercial prints depicting the new lines, bridges and viaducts became available to the public.
