This was an advertisement which would be shown between films in 1950s cinemas. This particular slide advertised the shop at 52 Darley Street in Bradford, Yorkshire. Richards Shops grew from a small retail fashion chain in the 1960s to over 240 retail outlets in 1999 when it was part of the retail group, Sears Womenswear. Sears was acquired in July 1999 by Arcadia Group, the UK's second largest clothing retailer but after a downturn in trading, sold off its 'Richard Shops' outlets in 2000.
