Description

Joseph Henry (1797-1878) was profesor of natural philosophy at Princeton University. Independently of Michael Faraday, Henry discovered electrical induction and the 'henry' unit of inductance is accordingly named after him. Henry also constructed the first electromagnetic motor in 1829 and developed a new system of weather forecasting.
