Gustavus Green, English engineer, 1958.

Photograph of Green standing by a display containing his 60hp and 100hp Green engines at the Science Museum in London. Green (1864-1964) started out as a bicycle maker and mender but became the founder of the Green A/C company and went on to build motorcycle and car engines. In 1908 he built an 80hp V8 version of his car engine for the 'Nulli Secundus' airship based at Farnborough, Hampshire.
