Mogul' 8/16 hp agricultural tractor with a single-cylinder gasoline (petrol)/ kerosene engine, manufactured by the International Harvester Corporation, Chicago, Illinois. International Harvester were the largest producers of tractors in the United States and dominated the market until the emergence of the Fordson Model 'F' in 1917. This particular model was in production from 1915 until 1917, and a number of them were imported into Britain during World War I to asist the Ministry of Food Production in keeping British agriculture going during the shortage of both horses and forage to feed them. Both animals and feed were being requisitioned for use by the military, and the loses of horses were particularly high.
