Oil painting by F Moore. The locomotive was designed by J E McConnell for the London & North Western Railway (LNWR) and was of the clas known as 'Large Bloomers'. F Moore was the collective name of a studio of artists operating in the first two decades of the 20th century. They produced many paintings and painted photographs of steam locomotives, prior to the advent of colour photography.
