Description

In 1837 Cooke (1806-1879) formed a partnership with Charles Wheatstone (1802-1875) and together they produced the first electric telegraph machine. They patented their single magnetic needle electric telegraph in 1845 and the following year Cooke formed the Electro-Telegraph Company.
