Description

A Navy helicopter prepares to winch the Apollo 10 astronauts aboard for transfer to the recovery ship Us Princeton following splashdown in the South Pacific at the end of their mision in May 1969. Apollo 10, carrying astronauts, Thomas Stafford, Eugene Cernan and John Young, was launched on 18th May 1969 on a lunar orbital mision, the dres rehearsal for the Apollo 11 landing mision which took place two months later.
