Cernan is suited up ready to participate in the Apollo 10 launch countdown demonstration test on 6th May 1969. Apollo 10, with astronauts Thomas Stafford, John Young and Cernan aboard, was launched on 18th May 1969 on a lunar orbital mision, the dres rehearsal for the Apollo 11 Moon landing mision which took place two months later. The pennant on the wall behind Cernan features a picture of the cartoon character Snoopy and the caption 'all systems are go!'. Snoopy was the codename for the Lunar Module on Apollo 10, which was piloted by Cernan.
