Description

A picture of the Earth, transmitted from the Apollo 10 spacecraft, can be seen on both the screen on the flight controller's console and on the large monitor in the background. The Mision Operations Control Room is located at the Manned Spacecraft Centre (now Johnson Space Centre), Houston, Texas. Apollo 10, carrying astronauts Thomas Stafford, John Young and Eugene Cernan, was launched on 18th May 1969 on a lunar orbital mision, the dres rehearsal for the Apollo 11 landing mision which took place two months later.
