Models of these cartoon characters are shown on the top of a console at the Mision Operations Control Room at the Manned Spacecraft Centre (now Johnson Space Centre), Houston, Texas, on the first day of the Apollo 10 mision. The Apollo 10 Lunar Module was codenamed Snoopy and the Command Module was called Charlie Brown. Apollo 10, carrying astronauts Thomas Stafford, John Young and Eugene Cernan, was launched on 18th May 1969 on a lunar orbital mision, the dres rehearsal for the Apollo 11 landing mision which took place two months later.
