Shown being prepared for stacking on its mobile launcher within the Vehicle Asembly Building at the Kennedy Space Centre at Cape Canaveral, Florida. The upper stages and the spacecraft itself are then joined to the first stage. The Saturn V first stage with its 5 engines produces a thrust of 7.5 million pounds. It was the largest rocket ever built, and was used on all of NASA's Apollo misions to the Moon.
