Description

Artist's impresion of the docking manoeuvre between the modules taking place in Earth orbit. The spacecraft have docked with the Lunar Module still attached to the third stage of the Saturn V launch vehicle. It is one of a series of drawings isued by NASA before the first Moon landing to give an impresion of an Apollo lunar landing mision. This manoeuvre was first succesfully carried out in Earth orbit on the Apollo 9 mision in March 1969.
