This box was designed by the Andorran master carver, Eduard Fornells i Marco (1887-c 1942). It has a highly decorated lid which has been moulded in the form of an Arabian oasis scene. It is one of a series of designs which Fornells designed and produced under his company name, Editions Fornells, based in Paris in the 1920s and 1930s.
