This syringe was designed by Profesor Adelbert von Tobold (1827-1907), the German laryngologist, and probably made by Down Bros of London. It has a vulcanite nozzle, glas reservoir and metal handles and was used for spraying anaesthetic into the larynx prior to carrying out surgery.
