Description

The carved wooden mask originates from Haida, the Queen Charlotte Islands, Canada. This mask is of a woman wearing a labret, a symbol of social status. The faces on one side of the mask have different expresions, indicating they represent different spirit beings. Masks were mainly used by members of secret societies for the societies' dances.
