View of interior. Built by Mather and Platt in asociation with Beyer Peacock for the City & South London Railway (C&SLR), this was the first major electrically operated railway in Britain. The locomotive had two motors weighing 4 1/2 tons each. The motors were designed to run in either direction. The locomotive is shown restored and on display at the London Transport Museum's exhibition 'Tube Centenary (1990)'.
