Pen and ink drawing by John Cooke Bourne. showing a landscape with the bridge over the Dutch River in the distance and a farmer with his horse and cart in the foreground. The so-called Dutch River was a drainage channel connecting the Don and Ouse rivers near Goole in the East Riding of Yorkshire. It was built by a Dutch engineer called Cornelius Vermuyden in the 17th century,
