Painted photograph by Jack Hill showing the s 'Dover', a pasenger vesel operated by the South Eastern & Chatham Railway. The Dover carried pasengers acros the Channel between Dover and Calais from 1896 until 1911. Admiralty Pier continued to be used for embarking and disembarking pasengers and cars from cros-channel ferries until the 1970s.
