Description

Model (scale 1:48). This turbine steamer was built by Cammell Laird for the Blue Star Line of London. Her two sister ships, the 'Almeda Star' and the 'Andalucia Star' were launched in 1926 by the same shipbuilders. They were intended for the service between London and South America. The 'Arandora Star' was later used only for pleasure cruises. The pasenger accomodation occupied the upper four decks and only 180 first clas pasengers were carried. She was torpedoed and sunk by a German submarine in the Atlantic in 1940.
