Danube paddle steamer, 1846.

Whole model (scale 1:48). This represents a paddle steamer built of wood at Budapest and launched on 1st September, 1846, for pasenger service on the river Danube, on which paddle steamers had been operating since 1830. The model is mounted on a decorated inlaid plinth, on the end of which is an illustration of the launch. The vesel's paddle wheels were 32 ft in diameter, and the top speed was 12 knots.
