Model. The Fijian sailing canoe is one of the most succesful types of outrigger canoe. The larger versions, some of which were 100 ft in length, were capable of carrying 40 or 50 persons and making long ocean voyages. This model represents a canoe about 30 ft long. These canoes always sailed with the outrigger to windward and the mast raked forward.
