A cosy evening in with the children, watching a coin-operated television. A coin-operated television receiver was displayed for the first time in New York City in 1946, and this was also the first time that most people viewing it had seen a television. This photograph was probably taken in the early 1940s or early 1950s in order to promote their use in Britain.
