Grundig Stenorette 'M' dictating machine, 1955.
© Science Museum / Science & Society Picture Library
The Grundig Stenorette was one of the first truly portable dictation machines in that it was light, relatively small and easy to use. The Stenorette gave its name to generations of increasingly smaller Grundig dictation machines, and the name is still in use today. The machine was supplied with a dust cover, foot switch, microphone and earphones. Made by Grundig (Great Britain) Ltd.
