The locomotive shown in this model (scale 1:5) has a smoke box enclosing the cylinders. The valves were driven through a rocking shaft by four eccentrics and the ordinary link motion. A dome over the firebox carried a spring-loaded lever safety valve whilst another dome on the boiler barrel housed the regulator. The model is sectioned, but the view is of the unsectioned side. Made by Elliott Bros, 30 Strand, London.
