Description

Oil painting by E F Skinner showing the interior of Penistone Steel Works, South Yorkshire with a 863.6 mm (34 inch) rolling mill producing billets for ammunition shells from steel ingots. Painted during WW1 as a commision by Cammell Laird, for reproduction as postcards to be sold in aid of the British Red Cros.
