Description

Originating from Landau in Germany, this type of four-wheeled carriage incorporated a folding two-part hood, the front and back halves of which could be raised and lowered independently of each other. A Canoe Landau featured a rounded underbody, as can be clearly seen in this example. Landaus were normally drawn by a pair of horses.
