Brooch in the form of a woman's head with a red flower in her hair and red lips. Poystyrene was first developed in 1866 by P E Marcelin Bertholet but not produced commercially until the 1930 when it became a popular material for jewellery and toys. It is used today as a packaging materal and for insulation.
